FOR RELEASE APRIL 16, 2007

Washington DC: PN Hoffman announced today that The Alta at Thomas Circle, its latest condominium project, has been recognized as the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified New Construction residential building in the District of Columbia by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System™ is a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. The USGBC recognizes buildings, such as The Alta, that promote a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. The Alta at Thomas Circle, a joint development between PN Hoffman and SJG Properties, encompasses many of these green building features, including a significant green roof system, and serves as a pioneer in sustainable design and construction within the District.

“We are proud to be a market leader in green building,” said CEO Monty Hoffman. “Sustainable building design is an important trend of the future that will drastically transform our built environment. Not only are we creating energy efficient and comfortable living spaces, but we are minimizing environmental impact and helping to create a better future.”

Since 1993, PN Hoffman has been developing extraordinary upscale condominium residences and mixed-use projects helping transform neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. The Company is deeply committed to serving the communities of Washington and has completed over 30 developments in the City since its inception.
