Two PN Hoffman projects – The Metro and Adams Row – have been named recipients of Washingtonian Magazine’s 2006 Residential Design Awards. Jointly sponsored by Washingtonian Magazine and the American Institute of Architects, Washington, D.C. Chapter, this juried award recognizes excellence in the residential architecture of the metropolitan area. The Metro, an urban infill project designed by SK&I Architectural Design Group, consists of 53 condominium units located on Church Street between Logan and Dupont Circles in the city’s revitalized 14th Street corridor, formerly the city’s automotive showroom district. The Metro’s hybrid design consists of a street-facing industrial brick façade broken into three distinct sections and a distinctly modern, alley-facing façade whose innovative use of steel and glass created light-flooded loft living spaces with dramatic views. Adams Row, a 68 unit condominium building
designed by
Hickok Cole Architects, is situated one block from restaurants,
nightlife, and the constant activity of Washington, DC’s most unique
neighborhood. Located on Champlain Street in Adams Morgan, the
building features the latest architectural designs; glass a steel
play a strong role in the building façade while unit interiors,
which feature stainless steel appliances and new cabinetry designs,
are softened with woods and lighting.
